Clearly indicate on your Excel spreadsheet, the question number and show all work

Learning Goal: I’m working on a statistics exercise and need guidance to help me learn.

Complete Question 4 on page 239 and Question 6 on page 250 in your text. Question 4 does not require you to use an Excel function but please provide your answers to this question on the Excel spreadsheet you submit for Unit 5.

Clearly indicate on your Excel spreadsheet, the question number and show all work to include the data file and evidence in your spreadsheet that you used the proper Excel function to do your work.

For Question 4 on the Assignment, you need to state a decision to either “reject” or “fail to reject” the null hypothesis for each of the three statements provided. The two methods of conducting hypothesis testing are the Traditional Method and the P-value (Probability Value) method. For Question 4, you must use the P-value method to determine if the correct decision for the hypothesis testing procedure is to “reject” or “fail to reject” the null hypothesis. In inferential statistics, these are the only two acceptable ways to state a decision on the null hypothesis. The decision rules for hypothesis testing using the P-value method are:

The strength of evidence in support of a null hypothesis is measured by the P-value. Suppose the value of a test statistic is equal to some value, X. The P-value is the probability of observing a test statistic as extreme as X, assuming the null hypothesis is true. If the P-value is less than the significance level, we reject the null hypothesis. If the P-value is greater than the level of significance, we fail to reject the null hypothesis. For each of the three statements, you will use a level of significance of 0.05.

For example, if the level of significance is 0.05 and after conducting a hypothesis testing procedure of the test statistic, the P-value was equal to 0.75, since 0.75 is greater than 0.05, the correct decision is to “fail to reject” the null hypothesis.

I know this is a very brief primer on hypothesis testing using the P-value method, but I hope it clarifies what you need to do for Question 4
