Learning Goal: I’m working on a social science discussion question and need an explanation and answer to help me learn.

The textbook describes generativity as the work of adulthood, particularly through parenting and caregiving. Think about the role of caregiving throughout adulthood. Use either examples from your own life or fictional examples (made up or from books, movies, TV, etc) to demonstrate how caregiving may change across adulthood.

• Who is being cared for, who is doing the caring, and what kinds of tasks need to be done and decisions need to be made in an individual’s 20’s and 30’s?
